WELCOME!

The Morningside Gardens Camera Club was established to provide opportunities for Gardens residents to explore and participate in the enjoyment of the many aspects of photography.

The Camera Club is one of many tenant cooperator organized activities under the Morningside Gardens Workshop.

Over the years, the Club has expanded its equipment and facilities to include: a fully equipped dark room (with 4 enlargers) for black and white film developing and printing and color film processing; slide projectors; a library of photography videotapes; a dry mounting press; and access to mat cutting equipment.

With heightened interest in digital photography, the Club anticipates adding a scanner and access to other appropriate software in the near future.

Club activities for members have included: short courses on black and white film developing and printing; monthly meetings on topics of interest, including travelogue slide shows and featured guests from both Garden experts and local professionals.

The Club also sponsors three Photo Contests each year with judging by a panel of experts. Winning prints are on public display in the North window of Duane Reade.

Occasional field trips to sites of photographic interest, and ongoing sharing of tips and equipment advances makes the Camera Club a source of enjoyment for “photo buff” cooperators of Morningside Gardens!
